About Us/ What We Stand For As a Diverse Company
The DWD's diversity vision is to create a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone is respected, valued, and feels a sense of belonging. Therefore, our diversity efforts focus on people in their diversity and individuality. We understand diversity to mean the equal dignity of all people – regardless of their specific diversity characteristics. Openness, respect, and acceptance are the guiding values for us, to which we are fully committed. We have been signatories to the Charter of Diversity since 2016.
Rainbow Career Services are important to us because…
…with our holistic approach, we incorporate all diversity dimensions, including sexual orientation and gender identity. Our queer company network BUNT@DWD is particularly strongly represented. The network, together with Diversity Management, stands for queer issues and a appreciative and discrimination-free work environment. For the past two years, it has regularly initiated the CSD Weather campaign – weather forecasts for the CSD parades in various major cities – and was awarded the Queer Network Award 2025 in the „Rising Star“ category by the PROUT AT WORK Foundation, among other accolades, for this. We are delighted to now also be present at queer career fairs as part of the Rainbow Career Day.
We are already implementing the following diversity measures in our company:
Our measures are diverse and relate to our three strategic fields of action – creating awareness, ensuring framework conditions and activities, and remaining credible. We are currently focusing on physical and mental abilities and have developed an action plan with eleven measures concerning inclusion and accessibility, as well as an e-learning module on inclusive leadership. In addition to BUNT@DWD, the CuDi@DWD (Cultural Diversity) network represents intercultural topics. Furthermore, we have created our own Diversity Glossary for our learning platform and regularly raise awareness with various activities for Diversity Day and other important occasions.
