As vhh.mobility, with around 3,000 employees and approximately 800 buses, we are the third-largest municipal bus company in Germany. We have set ourselves the goal of promoting openness to the world, coupled with acceptance and mutual appreciation, within our company. Corporate Strategy: In 2024, vhh.mobility developed a new corporate strategy and defined the values that should guide the company’s work. One of the seven values is „Diversity.“ This establishes diversity as a priority at the corporate strategy level, with the explanation: „The diversity of our workforce is a key factor in the company’s success.“ Diversity Comes First: Under the heading "Diversity Comes First," we compile everything related to diversity and its various dimensions at vhh.mobility on a dedicated page on our intranet. This is a space where we consolidate information, contribute to raising awareness, and are open to respectful exchange and discourse—thereby helping to dispel questions and prejudices. Queer Connections: „In the summer of 2024, our LGBTQIA* network was launched by dedicated employees to create a space for exchange, support, and community. Supported by management, our network serves as a central point of contact for queer issues within vhh.mobility. We are committed to providing information on LGBTQIA* issues and raising awareness about them. We also increase visibility through our own page and posts on our intranet platform. Through activities and events—such as our regular get-togethers and participation in Hamburg’s CSD—we foster fun, community, and an inclusive corporate culture where all employees feel accepted. Together, we work to break down prejudices and create a respectful environment—because diversity is our strength!“ Training: Every year, a full-day workshop introduces new trainees at vhh.mobility to the topic of diversity. Managers at vhh.mobility have also received training on diversity and "unconscious bias." Diversity Bus: Ever-changing bus wraps featuring outdoor advertising on the topic of diversity raise awareness and provide information. In 2025, a public bus with an eye-catching diversity design will make the seven dimensions of diversity „tangible“ in the truest sense of the word. With colorful icons and the slogan „Just as you are, you’re exactly where you belong with us,“ the bus draws attention to the diversity within the company—and to the attitude that vhh.mobility embodies every day. Girls‘ Day / Future Day: Every year on Future Day, we offer young people career guidance free of stereotypes. We introduce participating girls to careers within our company—for example, in technical fields and in the workshop—where few women have worked until now. Social Media Content and Community Management: On our social media platforms, we regularly share up-close and authentic insights into the diverse range of people who work with us—their stories, their jobs, and how they found their way to us. Our community management team is also specially trained on the topics of „diversity in communication“ and „online hate speech.“.
