FSJ - Voluntary social year

A voluntary social year (FSJ) offers young adults the opportunity to gain experience in social institutions throughout Austria. It is not only about career orientation, but above all about personal development and new perspectives. Whether working with children, seniors, or people with disabilities, in the FSJ you will learn to stand up for others, take responsibility, and show empathy. At the same time, you will develop strengths, clarity about your goals, and new social skills. You will be supported by the Association for the Promotion of Voluntary Social Services. You will take part in exciting seminars, exchange ideas with other volunteers, and gain valuable experience that will enrich you personally and professionally. It is a time that will have a lasting impact on you and give you the opportunity to do something for yourself and society.

We are participating in the Rainbow Career Fair because we want to create a voluntary social year program that highlights diversity and actively involves queer young people. The fair gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to a non-discriminatory and appreciative voluntary social year program and to attract new volunteers who share our attitude of openness and social engagement.

We actively promote a diversity-conscious, discrimination-sensitive, and non-violent FSJ. Together with our FSJ advisors and external trainers, we ensure prevention, clear rules, and supportive structures so that all FSJ participants feel seen, safe, and valued with us.
