We – the Federal IT Cooperation, or FITKO for short – are shaping the digitalization of administration in Germany together with the federal government, the federal states, and the municipalities. As a central coordination and networking hub, we pool the strengths of the federal system, create the necessary framework conditions for effective administrative digitalization, and ensure the implementation of the IT Planning Council's decisions. The goal: to create innovative digital solutions for a modern, efficient, and resilient administration for citizens and businesses in Germany.

To achieve our goals, we are forging new paths of collaboration, not only in fulfilling our tasks within the federal context but also in our internal teamwork. We see ourselves as a learning organization that views change processes as opportunities for personal development. Through flat hierarchies, transparent communication, targeted personnel development, and collaborative process design, we aim to foster a high level of willingness to innovate together, enabling us to meet the requirements placed upon us as an agile and flexibly operating organization. Our collaboration is characterized by appreciation and trust towards all employees. We value personal responsibility, self-organization, and personal commitment. Traditional administration and innovative methods do not represent a contradiction for us. We are convinced that diversity opens up new perspectives and promotes creativity, innovation, and success. Our recruitment process, staff development, and corporate culture are therefore based on the principles of diversity, equality, and anti-discrimination. Concrete examples include very flexible flex-time policies, unisex and accessible restrooms, the anchoring of non-binary gender language in our corporate language, regular training on all dimensions of diversity, networking of interest groups, and an unbureaucratic approach to sudden caregiving obligations.
