We – the Federal IT Cooperation, or FITKO for short – are shaping the digitalization of administration in Germany together with the federal government, the federal states, and the municipalities. As a central coordination and networking hub, we pool the strengths of the federal system, create the necessary framework conditions for effective administrative digitalization, and ensure the implementation of the IT Planning Council's decisions. The goal: to create innovative digital solutions for a modern, efficient, and resilient administration for citizens and businesses in Germany.

To achieve our goals, we are forging new paths of collaboration, not only in fulfilling our tasks within the federal context but also in our internal teamwork. We see ourselves as a learning organization that views change processes as opportunities for personal development. Through flat hierarchies, transparent communication, targeted personnel development, and collaborative process design, we aim to foster a high level of willingness to innovate together, enabling us to meet the requirements placed upon us as an agile and flexibly operating organization. Our collaboration is characterized by appreciation and trust towards all employees. We value personal responsibility, self-organization, and personal commitment. Traditional administration and innovative methods do not represent a contradiction for us. We are convinced that diversity opens up new perspectives and promotes creativity, innovation, and success. Therefore, everyone is welcome here who shares these values and wants to support the work of FITKO with commitment and expertise.

The foundation for our collaboration at FITKO is our self-developed values. In particular, the values of trust, appreciation, and openness have shaped our growing organization since its inception. We are convinced that we can only achieve our goals together as a team, understand diversity as one of our greatest strengths, and continuously develop ourselves thanks to our culture of error- and feedback-based learning. Whether LGBTQIA*, neurodiversity, disability, age, origin, or faith – we all think about multifaceted dimensions and understand it as an essential task to create a safe and productive working environment for everyone. Reinforced by the Human Resources Council, the Equality Team, and our Disability Representative, we ensure fairness and that everyone can develop themselves personally and feel comfortable in the workplace at FITKO. Both the personnel recruitment process, personnel development, and our corporate culture are based on the principles of diversity, equality, and anti-discrimination. Specific examples include very flexible flexible working hours and home office arrangements, the incorporation of non-binary gender in the corporate language, regular training on all dimensions of diversity, networking of interest groups, and a non-bureaucratic approach to (even suddenly emerging) care work obligations. As part of a spatial expansion currently underway, unisex and wheelchair-accessible restrooms and a separate parent-child room will also be considered in the future.
