University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna

About us/ What we stand for as a diverse company
The University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna (Vetmeduni) is Austria's only academic institution for veterinary medicine and research, and also the oldest in the German-speaking world, having been founded in 1765 by Empress Maria Theresa.
Confident, committed, and innovative: Vetmeduni stands for responsible action in the interests of human, animal, and environmental health. It conducts research into topics that are important to society. Its focus is on animal health as well as preventive veterinary medicine, public health and food safety. Its research interests include establishing scientific principles for animal welfare, animal husbandry, animal protection and animal ethics. Our goal is to provide all employees and students in different work and life situations with the best possible support in balancing their careers or studies with family life. We offer flexible working time models, a comprehensive training and continuing education program, occupational health care on campus, and holiday childcare. Under certain conditions, employees can even bring their dogs to work.
Vetmeduni Vienna stands for diversity, respect, and genuine equal opportunities—and is looking for people who want to help shape this.
• We create a non-discriminatory, equality-oriented study, research, and working environment—for us, social dimension and diversity are inseparable.
• For us, diversity is an obligation, an opportunity, and a potential: from social background, age, illness/disability, ethnic origin, gender, and sexual orientation to religion/worldview, diversity of ideas, talents, and backgrounds.
• Our leadership culture focuses on setting an example: respectful interaction, clear anti-discrimination standards, and leadership models that encourage rather than just lead.
• We systematically build competence: diversity and gender competence are part of our information and training offerings for all university members.
• Family-friendly and life-stage-oriented: flexible working hours and part-time models, home office, company kindergarten, and support for returning to work.
