Vienna Lines

About Us/ What We Stand For As a Diverse Company
We are as diverse as the city of Vienna. Everyone should join us, because Wiener Linien, that's all of us: employees with different backgrounds, different professional skills, (life) experiences, gender identities, and talents. We are all unique, like the people we move through our city every day.
Rainbow Career Services are important to us because…
... our common goal is inclusion. Inclusion means that all people, regardless of gender (identities), origin, life realities, religion, with or without disabilities, sexual orientation, etc., have the same opportunities and rights.
We at Wiener Linien create an environment where all employees feel a sense of belonging and security. Only in this way can we contribute our talents and experiences optimally and unfold our full potential.
We are already implementing the following diversity measures in our company:
We are committed to ensuring that equal opportunity and diversity are put into practice 365 days a year. This is reflected in our wide range of diversity initiatives.
The „Diversity Network“ is a company-wide platform that connects and brings together employees across all departments. Employees regularly exchange views on various diversity topics and contribute new ideas. We select the topics together.
The Wiener Linien LGBTQIA+ Network offers a platform for exchange and support. Here, employees can network, share experiences, and support one another at monthly meetings.
The „Wiener Frauen Linien Network“ offers women in leadership positions the opportunity for exchange and dialogue. Our CEO hosts these meetings twice a year to discuss various topics.
Our campaign „We’re All Here Together“ shows that we’re on the right track with diversity.
Raising awareness is essential:
Whether through workshops on gender diversity, unconscious bias, or campaigns like „Respect for Boundaries“—we’re committed to helping colleagues and managers feel more confident in their interactions and become more aware of their own biases. Accompanying communication, both externally and internally, is a valuable tool for raising awareness and providing support.
We have been advocating for gender balance for years and are implementing initiatives to attract more women to the technical field—in our own training programs, among our leadership, and among our apprentices. Our own scholarship program for female students with a focus on technology enables young women to spend a year getting a behind-the-scenes look at Wiener Linien.
Our campaigns, such as „Innovation Comes from *Within,“ explicitly target women.
We are also open to people with disabilities and rely on strong, long-term partners in our recruiting efforts. They help us find the right person for the right position.
