The New Normal? Why We Still Need to Talk About Queer Issues in the Workplace!

Rainbow flags, tailored marketing, and loud trucks at Pride parades: The corporate world can be quite colorful, and that’s a good thing. Still, we need to keep talking about queer inclusion in the workplace! In this talk by PROUT AT WORK, you’ll learn some basic facts about the situation of queer people in the workplace and why the topic of queer inclusion is relevant for individuals, organizational cultures, and ultimately, business.

Enea Cocco, Consultant at Prout At Work

Four coming-outs in one person? Is that even possible? Yes, it is—and you’ll find out how in Max Appenroth’s novel *Queer Through the Rainbow*! For the first chance, come to the book signing with Max at ISARPOST on February 6 between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. For the second chance, simply fill out our visitor survey on the day of the fair and you’ll automatically be entered into the drawing! We wish you the best of luck!

Young Queer People in the Workplace

In this panel discussion, we want to explore queerness as a cross-cutting social issue and ask ourselves how we can do justice to the intersectional diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community in the workplace. Do Boomers, Millennials, and Gen Z really have such different values and needs? Where do we stand in terms of corporate culture(s), and where do we want to go? How can we work together respectfully, learn from one another across generations, and form alliances based on solidarity? To discuss this, we’ve invited panelists who bring a wide range of perspectives to the topic. We look forward to welcoming:

In his keynote address, Max Appenroth invites the audience to explore the diversity that often goes untapped in companies! Max highlights why queer employees are a unique and enriching resource for organizations. Their diverse perspectives and experiences not only enrich corporate culture but also open up new avenues for solving complex challenges and tapping into new markets. At the same time, Max also discusses how queer employees can claim these very spaces for self-expression—and how, in the end, both sides stand to gain from empowering diverse talent!
